Birding on the Farm: Miller Farm

Miller Farm (park at Vernon Free Library), Vernon VT

Join us for an exciting opportunity to bird on farms throughout our region! As Spring approaches, learn more about the importance of delayed mowing and other wildlife considerations!

Participants will learn about farm habitat dynamics for birds, habitat management, wildlife conservation on the farm, farm conservation easements and their importance in supporting local agriculture and wildlife, as well as species identification from experienced bird guides.

  • This workshop series is open to birders and enthusiasts of all skill levels!
  • Participants should bring binoculars with them (extras may be available), and weather appropriate dress and boots.
  • Walking: Please note that we will take stops for discussion and observation.
  • Signs will direct to parking areas.

We will meet at Vernon Free Library (567 Governor Hunt Rd) at 8am and walk over to Miller Farm.

Presented by Cheshire County Conservation District (CCCD), USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Windham County Natural Resources Conservation District (Windham NRCD), Southeastern Vermont Audubon, Monadnock Outdoors, and the Monadnock Bird and Nature Club!
