Kate works as the Seasonal Avian Technician on the Connecticut River Valley Grassland Bird Project. Originally from upstate New York, she is currently based in the Monadnock Region. Kate has conducted studies for many nature organizations in the Northeast, including surveying whip-poor-wills for the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, documenting nesting Piping Plovers for NH Fish and Game, and conducting grassland bird surveys for the National Park Service. She has most recently worked at the Harris Center for Conservation Education in land conservation, wildlife research, and hawk migration monitoring. In her spare time, Kate enjoys hiking, drawing, and sharing her passion for nature with others. She holds a degree in Environmental Biology and Applied Ecology from Cornell University.
