Autumn Equinox Ritual

Monday, September  21st,  5:15 pm - 6:45 pm

Chantry Farm, 147 Orchard St, Brattleboro, VT

Join Taina Aletheia for an Autumn Equinox ritual in collaboration with the local watershed where the Rock & West rivers meet.

This is the time when the summer exhales, and we harvest what has grown this season, literally and figuratively. This year the Equinox coincides with the end of Yom Kippur, the Jewish holy day of Atonement, during which people reflect on harmful actions, and hold ceremonies and prayers for forgiveness. It is also a time to reflect on ways to improve in the year to come. This ritual at the river will begin with a tashlikh practice, or "casting off" wrongdoings, or harms from the past year. This involves a period of reflection and casting stones into the water. We will then shift our attention to the Equinox threshold and create a mandala with flowers for our intentions for this next seasonal cycle.

My intention is to weave together our personal threads, in relation to the local ecosystem in this intimate ritual by the waters we love. By donation with all donations going to the Connecticut River Conservancy. Children welcome.

Monday September 21. Gather at 5:15, ritual 5:30-6:45. Bring a flower or some plants or herbs.

Location - where the Rock River and West River meet on Rt. 30. Walk down the path from the road and walk down river to the right to where we will be gathered.
